Who We Are
Remission in the workplace is an especially personal topic to us, since we both have had close family members receive a cancer diagnosis. Seeing them navigate treatment, remission and returning to work was a difficult process that was marred with uncertainty.

A few days before I turned 16, my mother received a breast cancer diagnosis. A few days after I turned 17, she was cleared and entered remission. Despite this good news, the issues had not disappeared, they'd merely taken a different shape. Long-term side effects, less medical support and increased social and professional expectations made the year after particularly difficult for her and my family.

When I was 12, my aunty was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and it was the same story. Support quickly dropped off while the effects were longlasting.
